The Big Dog has been chained up again...

Well, after a very refreshing ride outside, the weather seems to have turned and things haven't been so good. A team ride scheduled for last Saturday was canceled at the last minute because the forecasts didn't look promising. When I woke up on Saturday, there was a good snow falling and a light accumulation on the ground. Sunday saw another group ride go out, but with family committments, I had to cancel. Not to be one to skip a workout, I jumped on the trainer and completed my ride indoors. While the workout itself was uneventful, the numbers at the end were. Perhaps a picture can do more justice then a description.

In case you can't make it out, that's 3 hours and 40 minutes of riding a stationary trainer. It took me almost a day to regain my sanity.

The Big Dog is BACK!!!

After nearly three months being locked in the basement staring at the walls (literally, a month ago I gave away my TV, not recognizing its power of distraction while on the trainer) I broke the chain and rode outside last night. The lure of a feast at abode Mosher was too much to handle and I broke the bike out. Sure, the 60 miles was long and painful, but boy what a revelation. Cold air in your lungs is just so much better then the the fan through your hair. The bad news was I returned to the basement on Monday, but hear me now, come Saturday I will be back outside!!! Daylight savings time is here too and evening riding outside is nearly here!!! Ain't no stopping the big dog now.
